Tallykeepers Report - December 9, 2012

On October 28, 2012, our tribe meet for the second time at the teepee of Lightning Lizard (James) and Thundering Buffalo (Brian).  Lightning Lizard beat the tom-tom 12 times marking the start of our meeting.

We welcomed new members to the tribe: Little Brave Alex and Big Brave Steve Stanek.  They chose the Indian names of Soaring Hawk (Alex) and Crafty Crow (Steve).

For the craft, we all created beaded tassels to decorate the tribes new talking stick.

After a snack of s'mores outside with marshmallows cooked on a real fire We made the unbroken circle for our closing prayer.

On November 18, most of the tribe meet at Camp Kanata for Fall Outing.  We took a nice hike together, some of us tried archery and canoes.  Big braves grilled hot dogs and hamburgers while the little Braves built a fort and had lots of fun.  After the sun went down, we all lined up and patiently waited.  The Little Braves and Big Braves walked past hundreds of flaming torches that lined the path to the lake.  After an opening ceremony with flaming arrows and exploding fires, Father and Son exchanged bear claws, with the Big Brave promising not to be selfish and to spend time with his little Brave.  The little Brave promised to be patient.  After the reading  of  all the tribes names, in which Skull and Crossbones yelled a hardly "arrgggh", the fun of Camp Kanata came to end.

Respectfully submitted,
